Responsive Web Design

I develop websites using an approach called Responsive web design, this is an approach to web design aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing and interaction experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, pinching/zooming and panning across a wide range of devices (from desktop computer monitors to mobile phones).

A site designed with RWD adapts the layout to the viewing environment by using fluid, proportion-based grids and flexible images.

Responsive web design is becoming more important as the amount of mobile traffic now accounts for more than half of total Internet traffic. This trend is so prevalent that Google has begun to boost the ratings of sites that are mobile friendly if the search was made from a mobile device. This has the net effect of penalizing sites that are not mobile friendly.

Content Management Systems (CMS)

I also always develop websites using a content management system. A “content management system” or CMS is a system that will hold all the content and text of the website, and provides you with a simple means of updating all the content without any knowledge of html or any need to contact a “web guy” for updates. Pages, sections, text and images can easily be edited to keep your website fresh. Your new website will look and function professionally and is extremely customizable and expandable utilizing the CMS.
